Summer Travel 2023 #4: Incheon Layover June 3
I departed Phuket on June 3rd knowing I wanted a different kind of stay the next time I visited.
During my layover in Incheon I made a point of booking three very high-end luxury hotels in Phuket and Koh Yao Noi for Faye and my stay in August.
Incheon airport has a number of pretty cool tours available for people on long layovers. I, unfortunately, did not arrive early enough to enjoy these and also was leaving too early to do some of the later scheduled ones. I did, however, make a point of enjoying the airport. Incheon airport is pretty neat.
I walked around the terminal and then made use of the VIP lounge I had booked.
After a light meal of pastries, yogurt, fruit, and beer I napped in the VIP lounge. As I was only allotted three hours when I awoke from my nap I went across the hall to the Incheon Airport Transit Hotel. I only had three hours of my layover left, but my next leg was 11hrs long and I had not had a shower since the morning before my flight. So, I paid $56 for a room. That would have paid for 6hrs. I used the bathroom, showered, and took a light nap then was ready to board my flight.
South Korea is on my must visit list in the future. I was disappointed that my 8hr layover would not have been long enough to go explore but still enjoyed the experience in the terminal.
