Big Relationship Move Planned and ACNH 2023 in Hainan
A lot has transpired since my last post. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, Faye and I are planning to live together. We have opted to switch to a 3-bedroom apartment provided by my company. I have been slowly moving things over and will make the final move on September 23rd. Faye will come a little bit later. We have a trip planned in October so she will move most of her stuff after the trip.
Our trip plans include a night in Bankok (Thailand), four nights in Bali (Indonesia), three night in Kuching (Malaysia), and one night in Singapore. Faye had to get a visa for Malaysia and Singapore, which stressed her out quite a bit, and that is why she is moving into our new apartment a bit later in October. It is a really nice apartment. I am looking forward to this next step in our relationship. It is a practical move for both of us as well. The new apartment is closer to work for both of us, we will have a much more space for our belongings, and although it will cost me slightly more to live there it will save her about half of what she is currently paying for rent.
There were a couple big storms over the last month. Typhoon Saola hit HK, Macau, and the Pearl River Delta on September 2nd and and brought with it some high winds and heavy rain. The week after, on the 8th, Typhoon Haikou hit Fujian and northeastern Guangdong. Shenzhen and HK got hit with heavy rain during this storm and there was pretty severe flooding. Fortunately, most of Shenzhen was spared the worst. Other areas were not so lucky. I would recommend checking out the videos and news about this online.
On September 8th Basis had an all staff dinner outing to Latina. This was a lovely Brazilian steakhouse style dinner with delicious food and a fun atmosphere. I went out for drinks at Life on Mars (a David Bowie themed cocktail bar) with some new and some returning staff after dinner.
The All China Nash Hash took place in Hainan from September 15-17. I took off of work on Saturday so I could make it there in time for the red dress run but arrived late anyway because the flight was delayed. I still partied in the red dress and had a great time. On Saturday we climbed Qionghai's Baishiling mountain and then staggered down before partying like wild. On Sunday there was a rusty man run (which I skipped) and then a hangover run for which I was completely hammered. I did not film the hangover run.
I was still drunk when we boarded the plane. When we landed back in Shenzhen the hangover finally caught up with me.
It has been a pretty wild few weeks. The next few are shaping up to be equally exciting.
Congrats on the move! The place looks spacious and has a great view!
ReplyDeleteI didn't show any pictures of the new place yet. Waiting for Faye to finish the move to show the place off.
