Relationship reconciliation, last full week of school, wet weather hash, and Faye's new hairstyle

Many folks, my girlfriend included, felt that my last post was unfairly painting her in a negative light.  While I understand that it may not be the best practice to put relationship drama on full display to the general public, I hope to provide as unfiltered a lens into my personal experience as possible, and that particular story would not have been accurate if I sugar coated the experience.

With that said, I am happy to report that Faye and I got through the difficult conversations we needed to have.  I sought insight from some friends who provided great advice. I was first to extend an olive branch of forgiveness.  After much back and forth we both agreed to certain best practices that will ensure we are treating each other with respect and kindness.  I put a lot of effort into regulating my volume and tone when I am upset and I just ask she does the same for me.

We can hopefully keep that bullshit behind us and move forward with more empathy and compassion for each other.

Other good news from this week is that my older brother, Kyle, and his wife Aidette had their baby.

Keanu Matsco is an adorable little tot.  I look forward to meeting him this summer.

Last week was the last full week of school.  The science department ended the week with a department dinner at an Indian restaurant.  There are only three days left this week.

On Saturday I went hashing.  Heavy thunderstorms washed away the marks and flooded the entire trail so it ended up being a live trail.  We followed the hare through the whole trail.

After the hash I went home. Then Faye, who had just got home from work, and I went to get some hotpot near our apartment.

On Sunday (yesterday) the rain died down a bit.  It still drizzled a little here and there.  Faye had a hair appointment and I had a nail appointment.  We got dinner at George and Dragon afterward.

The 19th is the last day of work.  After that Faye and I will go to HK for a couple days prior to my departure to the US.  My flight leaves at 9am on Monday the 24th so I booked a hotel close to the Hong Kong airport.

I am going to miss her while I am away.
