Qing Ming in Bangkok and April 20th in Koh Sichang
The remainder of March was uneventful. Faye and I took lots of walks around town in our free time. For the most part we just relaxed at home.
During my three day weekend of Qing Ming (Spring Break) from April 3-5th we took a quick trip to Bangkok.
Then on April 11th we took a day trip to Shek-O Beach in Hong Kong.
I took PTO on April 20th and 21st so that I could enjoy another break before the summer It was well worth it. We flew to Bangkok on the April 17th, then went to a small island not too far from Bangkok, called Koh Sichang, to relax on the beach and by the pool for a couple of days before returning to Bangkok for a night before flying back. The photos and videos below are not in order.
All in all it was well worth taking a couple of days off and sacrificing the expense for this trip. It is now the first week of May, and for the labor day holiday we just rested at home, and this quick island trip was exactly what was needed to unwind before the long stretch before the end of the school year.
With the end of the school year more than a month away on June 11th, we will take weekends to relax and prepare for our eight weeks of travel over the summer.
Our summer travel will involve the US (NY, NJ, PA, MA), Mexico (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel), and Canada (Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Algonquin Provincial Park). We have lots of preparation to do in anticipation of this trip. I am looking forward to introducing Faye to my family and showing her places that are important to me.
Unfortunately, with as much as I am spending on this trip and the way things are going in global geopolitics, we may not be able to travel on such a big budget again for a long time.
