An American Expat in China

This past week was pretty low key.  Teaching went well.  Friday after work there was a staff social at a restaurant called Jing-A where I got some good beer and a cheeseburger.   Faye and I spent the weekend together which was nice for the majority of the time.  We had a really nice and relaxing weekend.  She came over on Friday night and we had a good evening of relaxing and ordering delivery food. On Saturday morning I went to Snake Pit to pack the beer cooler for the hash, which I skipped, then went swimming while Faye slept in.  In the afternoon and evening we had a great time visiting Nantou Old Town and sipping wine in Zhongshan Park.  When the sun set on Saturday we went to OCT where we visited a couple bars before ending the night at George and Dragon in SeaWorld.  It was nice turning off my alarms and going with the flow all weekend.  On Sunday afternoon we got our nails done and Faye had me try durian for the first time.  ...

Faye and I took our first trip together.  We went to Hong Kong for two nights and Macau for one night.  The entire trip felt very rushed, and we argued a bit, but we still had a good time.  We had some meaningful conversations and I came to realize that I need to learn to relax and take it easy on vacation.  After the trip she came over for a night and we had some more meaningful talks about our childhoods and life experiences.  The pictures above are from Shenzhen as we left on the ferry to HK.  This photo is when we arrived in HK.
